The Mesthene Lecture Series was established by the Philosophy Department in 1994 to honor Emmanuel G. Mesthene, who was a Dean of Livingston College and a member of Livingston’s Philosophy Department from 1974-77, and subsequently a Distinguished Professor in the Graduate School of Management and the Philosophy Department at Rutgers Newark. The lecture series is funded by generous gifts from the Mesthene family, friends and former colleagues. Mesthene lectures are philosophy lectures for a broad public audience.
