Biography

Stephen Stich’s most recent books are Collected Papers, vol. 1, Mind and Language, and vol. 2, Knowledge, Rationality and Morality (Oxford U.P., 2011 & 2012). He is a recipient of the Jean Nicod Prize, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was the first recipient of the APA’s Gittler Award for Outstanding Scholarly Contribution in the Philosophy of the Social Sciences. He has lectured widely at universities around the world. In recent years he has designed a new undergraduate lecture course on Human Nature and Human Diversity. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1968.
