Meetings: Mondays from 7:15-8:15pm in Scott Hall room 205. Join our Discord server to receive important links and speaker info!
The club's meetings are usually structured around a student presentation on a topic, philosopher, or work the presenter(s) find interesting. After the presentation, we open the room to discussion about the topic, including relevant positions, thought experiments, and arguments. Our aim is to give as diverse a perspective as possible on all sorts of philosophy from ancient to modern.
On occasion the club host professors for special lectures. Those are, for the most part, about more contemporary or ongoing research, but otherwise share a structure similar to student presentations. Professor lectures can happen during our normal time or on some other specified date. We also sometimes host game nights and movie nights.
We give regular updates on meetings via our Discord server and Instagram page (@rutgersphilosophyclub).
